Turbulence

As the ship cuts it's way
Through the tides and the fiery,
Ferocious waves of the ocean,
Little do we realise the essence
Of the turbulence in our daily lives.
The fact which is indispensable
Is the world appearing like a small,
Yet bulging spheroid - where we all
Will eventually mix with, at a time -
Be it sooner, or later.
The absence of waves, or as we say
Turbulence, would eventually
Stagnate the entire ecosystem,
Defeating the very purpose of life,
Of survival, of thrill, of adventure.
A sea without ripples is equivalent to
A country without a flag,
A soldier without a uniform,
Or, a rangoli without any hues.
Do they define nature? Or society?
Not at all. A monotonous world is
A world without any variations,
Without clues, without glee.
How would it be - if people were meant
To do the same work again and again?
Or to use the same clothes,
Or eat the same food? A day or two
Might suffice, but not in the long run.
Variety is the spice of life.
So is the need of different individuals
For different tasks, different aspirations
In different walks of life. Sounds heavy,
But it is what it is. We cannot help
To make our youth as robots,
Just for the sake of a flawed stability.
Everyone need not be engineers,
We need dancers, singers, musicians,
And also poets, farmers and educators.
A literate society is the backbone,
But the absence of blue collar jobs
Makes a literate, yet malnourished society.
Turbulence and variations are somehow
Interrelated, or rather linked to each other.
Variations create turbulence, but it is the
Difference among individuals to give
Everyone a unique identity, which is
Different from anyone else on Earth.
A robotic world would make cash,
But would not understand how to
Utilise the cash in a proper manner.
Such tendencies lead to bad habits,
Leading to the destruction of youth,
And the society as a whole.
Internet is somehow to be blamed.
Modernisation among internet programmes
Through addiction is not a key to life,
It's a key for some companies to make
The utmost profit out of their (mis)deeds,
To lead some families towards a future
Absolutely bright, at the cost of the son
Of some other family. Many people are not
Smart enough to look through the lenses
And realise this from reality.
We should strive to avoid monotony,
Create variations, enjoy ourselves
But not at the cost of self destruction.
Then and only then can we move
Towards a world which is atleast a bit
More conscious, informed, joyful,
Educated and influential enough to
Protect our future generations
From the hands of corporate tyrants.

The Dawn

I did not win over the girl I longed for. Call it a tragedy or a comedy- Sometimes life makes us think hard To try and contemplate our decisions, Be it harsh or not. We look at things from our lenses Ignoring the ways it could be Since it suits our perceptions Notwithstanding the reality. Still when fate makes it destiny, We cannot deny it, nor should we. Maybe she never saw me as I wanted Or somewhat worse, how would I know? Life itself is a paradox with no end, Every single minute spent makes us bend. Human psychology is really tedious, You cannot get into their brains to realize And understand what actually they think of us. A sweet potato may not be sweet, Similarly, a sweet word doesn't assure warmth. All you see is not what they do. All you think is not what they feel. It is our fault of dwelling in perception Which often always end up in deception. We may not see but God does truly see All those sights which we dreamt not to see. A bond broken is not one of pain, But becaus...

An Ode to Labour

The paddy fields, green and yellow, Welcomed the farmer- bright and mellow. The sound of the hammer echoing through soil, The laborer rejoices, despite the toil. The machines buzzing, clear and free Entrust the workers with a new sense of glee.  The sellers and vendors shouting loudly, For their items to be sold proudly. For labour is unique and universal, No force can stop it from being vocal. Not in riches, but in honor they stand, As its worth is woven by hand. --by Sakshar Das 30th March, 2025

Sweet

I came across a greet Which was actually so sweet The voice was a soft treat For my ears to hear in repeat. "Mishti" as they called her, Her voice which never failed to empower The depressed ones in despair To sail all the way to recover. I befriended her for her melody, Realising her power to overcome tragedy And kept myself always ready To assist in her thesis of comedy. But little did I realise later That her words were not always a setter, But sometimes also a narrator Of softness towards a potential hater. The always enchanting glee Slowly started to flee At the sight or text of me To escape everything of mine to see. A raw text of "hi" would take hours, Followed by days, months and years. And would eventually get to pierce The bond which once desired to be so fierce. I was quite shocked, But not more than being ignored, As the silence soared  And the drums of my emotions roared. I soon gave her a call, But the discussion slowly began to fall Like a batsman def...
